Job Description

Operate and maintain CNC Horizontal Machining Centers (HMC) to produce precision components as per engineering drawings, quality standards, and production targets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Machine Operation

  • Set up and operate CNC HMC machines.
  • Load/unload workpieces, fixtures, and cutting tools.
  • Adjust offsets, tool wear, zero-setting, and alignment for accurate machining.

2. Production Activities

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings & process sheets.
  • Perform roughing, finishing, drilling, tapping, and milling operations.
  • Monitor machining parameters, cutting conditions, and cycle times.

3. Quality Control

  • Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Use measuring instruments such as Vernier, Micrometer, Bore Gauge, and Depth Gauge.

4. Program Handling

  • Call, verify, and make minor edits in CNC programs (Fanuc/Siemens/Heidenhain).
  • Assist programmers in debugging & maintain program backups.

5. Tool & Fixture Management

  • Install, inspect, and maintain tools, tool holders, and fixtures.
  • Replace worn tools and optimize tool life.

6. Maintenance & Safety

  • Perform daily machine checks (coolant, lubrication, hydraulics).
  • Maintain machine cleanliness and strictly follow safety protocols.

7. Documentation

  • Maintain production records, tool logs, inspection sheets.
  • Update downtime, setup time, and cycle time accurately.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of CNC HMC operations.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings & GD&T.
  • Proficient in measuring instruments and basic CNC programming.
