Cloud Network Engineer

This is a technical position that requires experience of operations and support across primarily, but not restricted to, the network discipline in public cloud. You will work with other engineers and architects in the Cloud Operations team to provide both deployment and support services for our internal business units.

Required skills and experience:
3+ years of networking experience 3+ years of experience working with Cloud Platforms such as Azure and AWS Ability to provision, operate, and maintain network systems including Palo Alto Firewalls, F5 Load Balancers and other NVAs as required. Knowledge of network elements LAN, WAN, B2B/B2C VPN, VPC, VNETs, NSGs and network protocols e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, BGP, EIGRP etc. is required. Excellent understanding of cloud resources on several cloud platforms, for example AWS EC2, Azure VMs, AKS/ECS/EKS, S3/Blob Storage, App Gateway, ELB/ALB, etc. Cloud formation templates, Terraform and Infrastructure as code experience is recommended. Setup and monitoring of alerts and metrics on cloud network resources and an ability to diagnose fault domains including packet capture and analysis, firewall log analysis, Wireshark use. Awareness of the latest features/capabilities of the Azure/AWS platforms, particularly in relation to network resources. Ability to use CLI tools to manage/administer network appliances. Experience with creation and maintenance of operations documentation for day-to-day issues and knowledge transfer to other tiers and resources. Experience with ITIL/ITSM service operations processes. ServiceNow exposure or experience with change, configuration, incident and problem Management is ideal. Experience with DDoS solutions, such as Cloudflare or Akamai, is a bonus. Prior experience in Life Sciences is also a bonus. Other highly regulated industry experiences will be considered also.

Education/certification:
Degree level educated, preferably in IT, science, maths or engineering areas. Network certification with Palo Alto such as: PCNSA. AWS CCP or Azure Foundation certification at a minimum.
