Cloud Database Engineer

You will be responsible for maintaining Oracle autonomous database services with a deep focus on production operations, capacity planning, performance management, deployment, and assisting the AMS team during OBCS SaaS release DB patches. Your role will involve managing the deployment, configuration, and production support for GoldenGate Hub / OCI GoldenGate Service. Additionally, you will need to identify and build production DB monitoring infrastructure in collaboration with the OBCS SRE team using Autonomous DB self-service APIs. It will be your responsibility to define daily production DB monitoring practices for AMS shift engineers through SOPs. Your tasks will include identifying DB performance bottlenecks such as expensive SQL Queries using distributed tracing and reporting them to corresponding product owners, ensuring fixes are delivered promptly. You will also assist SaaS customers in case of DB data movements across tenant environments and apply DB Hot fixes across system and tenant DBs. Providing guidance to reporting DBAs in terms of performing day-to-day tasks and learnings will be part of your responsibilities. You will be expected to drive and actively participate in the resolution of complex technical issues related to DB instances.
