As a Database & Cloud Engineer at EY, you will play a crucial role in planning, designing, and implementing database solutions within cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Your responsibilities will include actively monitoring database performance, ensuring robust backup strategies, disaster recovery planning, and high availability configurations. You will continuously optimize database structures, schemas, indexes, and queries to enhance performance, efficiency, and reliability. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring adherence to security best practices, regulatory compliance standards, and data governance policies across all cloud database implementations. Your effective engagement with developers, DevOps teams, and stakeholders will be essential for executing database migrations, integration projects, and delivering seamless system interoperability. Key Responsibilities: - Plan, design, and implement database solutions within cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP). - Actively monitor database performance, ensure robust backup strategies, disaster recovery planning, and high availability configurations. - Continuously optimize database structures, schemas, indexes, and queries for improved performance, efficiency, and reliability. - Ensure adherence to security best practices, regulatory compliance standards, and data governance policies. - Engage effectively with developers, DevOps teams, and stakeholders to execute database migrations, integration projects, and deliver seamless system interoperability. Qualifications Required: - Extensive experience managing relational and non-relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB. - Proven hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and specific expertise in cloud-native database solutions. - Proficiency with managed cloud database services including AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, or Google Cloud SQL. - Deep understanding of database architecture, schema design, performance tuning methodologies, and comprehensive security measures. - Strong automation skills using scripting and tools like Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or similar technologies. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with strong attention to detail and outstanding communication and collaboration skills.
