Cloud Database Consultant-Engineer-Senior

As a Database & Cloud Engineer at EY, you will play a crucial role in planning, designing, and implementing database solutions within cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the database solutions align with business needs and performance requirements. You will actively monitor database performance, establish robust backup strategies, disaster recovery planning, and high availability configurations to maintain optimal system functionality. Your expertise will be essential in continuously optimizing database structures, schemas, indexes, and queries to enhance performance, efficiency, and reliability. It will be crucial to ensure adherence to security best practices, regulatory compliance standards, and data governance policies across all cloud database implementations. You will collaborate effectively with developers, DevOps teams, and stakeholders to execute database migrations, integration projects, and deliver seamless system interoperability. The ideal candidate for this role will have a maximum of 7 years of experience and possess extensive knowledge in managing relational and non-relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, and MongoDB. You should also have proven hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and specific expertise in cloud-native database solutions. Proficiency with managed cloud database services including AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, or Google Cloud SQL is essential. A deep understanding of database architecture, schema design, performance tuning methodologies, and comprehensive security measures is required for this position. Strong automation skills using scripting and tools like Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or similar technologies will be beneficial. Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a strong attention to detail, along with outstanding communication and collaboration skills, are also essential qualities for success in this role.
