Clinical Initiatives Manager

Role & responsibilities

Job Purpose In collaboration with Head Clinical Initiatives actively contribute to or drive GCD cross-functional digital and operational excellence projects in close collaboration with all internal/external functions involved to improve employee engagement and department operations. Support the introduction of new digital and technology platforms and tools in alignment with business needs. Oversee and manage the GCD budget, resource status and strategic priorities and provide framework and processes to ensure that the GCD pipeline is executed in a timely, compliant, and cost-effective way across the GCD line functions. Provide support to the Head Clinical Initiatives in overall communication and planning activities to ensure strong Project Management and Governance across GCD.

Major Accountabilities Manager,

Clinical initiatives is responsible to:

• Drive evaluation, planning and execution of key strategic initiatives across GCD to ensure organizational performance and drive related initiatives

• In collaboration with relevant line functions assess the impact of new technologies and innovations on the current processes and studies

• Hold owners accountable for their commitments and conduct project team meetings to provide status updates and identify/resolve issues
• Oversee and manage the GCD project portfolio, monitor performance and communicate status to the stakeholders

• Contribute to Operational Excellence projects and/or work streams external to GCD

• Support the execution of the GCD communications plan (e.g. facilitate GCD team meetings, events, maintain the GCD SharePoint)

• Coordinate FTE and cost centre planning and monitoring including any required gap analysis (demand vs capacity) for GCD in collaboration with heads of GCD functions, P&O and Finance

• Manage GCD demand planning and related reporting in the relevant systems and act as subject matter expert/super user for the GCD project and resource planning tools

• Ensure GCD obligations are fulfilled with regards to Transparency Reporting by coordinating the data collection and processing, maintaining guidance documents related to the process and providing any required training to GCD associates and vendors as required

Key Performance Indicators (indicate how performance will be measured)

• Execution of IT or Digital projects in terms of quality, time and cost

• Communication within GCD, supports engagement and effectiveness

• GCD resource planning is reviewed on a regular basis as per the process and reported within the given timelines • GCD planning tools are regularly maintained and are up to date

• GCD compliance with assigned transparency reporting obligations as per the regulations and guidelines
• The GCD Knowledge Sharepoint is maintained on a regular basis

Ideal Background (minimum education and experience level)

• 3 to 5 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a good understanding of clinical development activities

• Proven track record demonstrating strong strategic project management skills

• Familiarity with IT project design, planning and on-time execution

• Process improvement methodologies and implementation

• Proven ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across a global, matrixed company

• Sound experience in working with project management and planning tools Competency profile: • Effective project management skills
