Rajasthan Patrika is looking for a sharp, proactive, and newsroom-ready City Desk Person for its Udaipur edition. The candidate will be responsible for handling daily city coverage, coordinating with reporters, ensuring accuracy, and supporting the editorial team in delivering high-quality local journalism. This role is ideal for someone who understands city reporting and editorial processes and is passionate about local news.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and manage daily city news inputs from reporters, correspondents, and local sources.
Track breaking news, civic issues, local events, and updates relevant to Udaipur city.
Assist in planning and prioritizing stories for the city pages.
Edit and refine news copies with accuracy, balance, and clarity.
Coordinate with photographers and field reporters for complete coverage.
Ensure timely filing of stories and smooth coordination with the City Desk team.
Support page planning, headline writing, and coordination with copy editors/sub-editors.
Maintain editorial quality and adhere to Rajasthan Patrikas journalistic standards.
Collaborate with digital teams to ensure key stories are aligned for online publication.

Desired Candidate Profile

2-5 years of experience in Hindi Print Media, preferably in reporting or desk roles.
Strong command over Hindi language, grammar, and journalistic writing.
Sharp news judgment with good understanding of local civic, social, and political issues.
Ability to work under deadlines while maintaining accuracy and balance.
Familiarity with newsroom workflows, CMS systems, and tools like QuarkXPress (preferred).
Good coordination skills and ability to work with reporters, photographers, and editorial staff.
