Role Overview: As a Cinematographer at Insomniacs, you will not just be pressing buttons, but rather be a visual storyteller who can elevate every frame, shape brand stories with your lens, and create high-impact visuals for various content such as IPs, founder stories, interviews, startup shoots, and on-location shoots. Your role will involve thinking in light, moving with intention, and shooting with soul to create stunning visuals that capture the essence of the narrative. Key Responsibilities: - For Junior Cinematographer (Asst. DOP): - Assist senior cinematographers on shoot setup, lighting, and movement rigs. - Operate secondary cameras or gimbals (Ronin, DJI, sliders) during shoots. - Set up and manage indoor and outdoor lighting rigs. - Handle data transfers, backups, and gear maintenance. - Follow visual briefs and help log shot continuity and metadata. - For Mid-Level Cinematographer: - Lead shoot execution for brand films, interviews, and montage-based storytelling. - Plan camera movement, lighting, and scene mood for each frame. - Use gimbals and handheld techniques to capture dynamic footage. - Bring creative input on visual flow, lens choices, and drama in framing. - Collaborate with creative team on moodboards and pre-production look design. - Own lighting decisions for both natural and artificial setups. - For Senior DOP (Lead Cinematographer): - End-to-end visual ownership from planning to final execution. - Shape the visual grammar of shoots: composition, lighting, mood, drama. - Lead the on-set team with clarity, direct assistants, manage time, and troubleshoot issues. - Think beyond the brief and contribute original ideas to elevate the visual language. - Innovate with techniques such as lens choices, filters, camera movement, and framing styles. - Guide the post team with references, LUTs, and continuity input. Qualification Required: - For Junior Cinematographer: - 1-2 years of on-set experience. - Familiarity with Sony, Blackmagic, Canon, or mirrorless camera systems. - Understanding of lighting for both indoor and outdoor conditions. - Willingness to travel and work on varied formats. - Passion for the craft and eye for shot symmetry, movement, and emotion. - For Mid-Level Cinematographer: - 2-4 years of experience as a lead shooter or primary DOP. - Command over lighting indoors and outdoors. - Gimbal expertise and ability to move and shoot fluidly under pressure. - Aesthetic sensibility and strong communication skills. - For Senior DOP: - 4+ years of experience crafting high-end brand content. - Expertise with high-end cameras and lighting tools. - In-depth understanding of shot psychology and the ability to mentor juniors. - A portfolio demonstrating depth, range, and aesthetic confidence.,
