As a Cinematographer at Insomniacs, you will have the opportunity to be a part of a dynamic team that values creativity, innovation, and storytelling. We are currently looking for individuals at various levels - Junior, Mid, and Senior, to join us full-time at our in-house office in Mumbai. In this role, we are seeking visual storytellers who can do more than just operate a camera - we want cinematographers who can bring brand stories to life through their lens, create impactful visuals for a variety of projects including IPs, founder stories, interviews, startup shoots, and on-location content. As a Junior Cinematographer (Asst. DOP), you will be responsible for assisting senior cinematographers on shoot setups, managing lighting and movement rigs, operating secondary cameras or gimbals, setting up indoor and outdoor lighting rigs, handling data transfers, and following visual briefs. Candidates for this role should have at least 1-2 years of on-set experience, familiarity with camera systems such as Sony, Blackmagic, Canon, or mirrorless, understanding of lighting techniques for different conditions, willingness to travel, and a passion for cinematography. For the Mid-Level Cinematographer position, we are looking for individuals with 2-4 years of experience as a lead shooter or primary DOP. Responsibilities include leading shoot executions, planning camera movements and lighting setups, providing creative input on visual flow and framing, collaborating with the creative team, and owning lighting decisions. To be considered for the Senior DOP (Lead Cinematographer) role, candidates should have 4+ years of experience crafting high-end brand content, expertise with high-end cameras and lighting tools, a strong portfolio showcasing depth and aesthetic confidence, and the ability to mentor juniors and drive shoot excellence under real-world conditions.
