Chief Subeditor

As the Chief SubEditor at Goodreturns (A brand of Oneindia), you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the creation of high-quality, accurate, and timely content in the domains of business, finance, economy, and stock markets. Your responsibilities will include leading the Hindi Business News desk, managing a team of writers and sub-editors, and ensuring that all content meets the highest editorial standards while resonating with the Hindi-speaking audience. Your editorial expertise will be crucial in editing, rewriting, and proofreading articles to guarantee clarity, accuracy, grammatical correctness, and consistency in tone. You will work closely with research analysts, journalists, and digital teams to deliver insightful and reader-friendly content, and monitor breaking news and key developments in financial markets to drive relevant coverage. Collaboration with SEO and analytics teams will be essential to optimize headlines, metadata, and article structure for reach and performance. Additionally, your role will involve mentoring the editorial team to uphold content quality, productivity, and awareness of current trends, along with maintaining a strong understanding of investor behavior, stock market functioning, and key economic indicators. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 7 years of editorial experience in business journalism or financial media, particularly in Hindi-language publications or platforms. A strong command over Hindi and English, along with excellent writing and editing skills, is required. Furthermore, proven knowledge of stock markets, financial instruments, economy, and corporate news, as well as hands-on experience in proofreading, fact-checking, and news curation under tight deadlines, are essential qualifications. Candidates should also be familiar with digital publishing tools, CMS platforms, and new media formats such as infographics and short videos. Strong leadership and team management capabilities are necessary, and a Bachelors or Masters degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Economics, or Finance is preferred. Experience in working in fast-paced digital newsrooms would be a significant advantage for this role.,
