Role Summary

Technically proficient and proactive IT Lead to oversee the administration, optimization, and security of Windows and Linux server environments. This role blends hands-on infrastructure management with team leadership, ensuring operational excellence and alignment with organizational objectives.The ideal candidate will lead a team of system administrators and support engineers, managing both client-facing support operations and internal infrastructure. This includes ensuring system reliability, enforcing security best practices, and driving continuous improvement across IT services.

Key Responsibilities

i. Leadership and Team management

  • Lead multiple teams of system administrators and support engineers to ensure high performance, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and address discrepancies between actual performance and expected outcomes, offering constructive guidance to support improvement and ensure seamless workflow.
  • Establish a culture of teamwork, innovation and professional growth within and across the teams.

ii. Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Develop and implement short-term and long-term strategies for network infrastructure, software solutions and quality assurance.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of technical procedures, troubleshooting guidelines, system configurations and run books.
  • Prioritize projects, allocate resources effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

iii. Network Oversight & Facility Management

  • Oversee the design, implementation and maintenance of network architecture.
  • Manage IT-related facility operations, ensuring reliable infrastructure, optimal performance of hardware systems, and smooth integration of technology within the workplace environment.
  • Evaluate and recommend new networking technologies, tools and processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.

iv. Software Development Management & Client Support

  • Oversee the end-to-end Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including requirement analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment and maintenance.
  • Enforce best practices, version control and documentation for software projects.
  • Deliver prompt and effective technical support to clients, diagnosing and resolving website and web application issues to ensure optimal performance and user satisfaction.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to site performance, plugins, themes and user interface problems.

v. Quality assurance & Testing Oversight

  • Establish and maintain robust QA and testing processes to ensure software quality, reliability and compliance with standards.
  • Conduct testing on WordPress sites to ensure proper functionality, responsiveness, and performance prior to updates or launches.
  • Monitor defect trends, perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to minimize errors.

vi. Technical Governance & Risk Management

  • Ensure adherence to IT policies, security protocols and compliance standards across all teams.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate technical risks related to network, software and QA operations.
  • Conduct periodic audits of systems, processes and projects to ensure efficiency and quality.

vii. Stakeholder Communication & Reporting

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for senior management.
  • Facilitate informed decision-making by translating technical insights into actionable business recommendations.
  • Report technical progress, team performance and key metrics to management.

viii. Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, tools and frameworks to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks, troubleshoot critical issues and implement preventive measures.
  • Promote process optimization, automation and best practices across teams.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing, training and upskilling initiatives to keep teams updated with industry trends.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience (3 + years) in leading and managing technical teams in competitive environment.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols, system architecture, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and testing processes.
  • Proven leadership skills with ability to motivate, mentor and develop high performing teams..
  • Strong communication skills with ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of Open-Source technologies, including WordPress.
  • Proven experience working with Apache, Nginx, and PHP, with in-depth knowledge of their configuration, optimization, and integration within open-source platforms.
  • Experience with MySQL or similar databases, including SQL skills for troubleshooting data-related issues.
  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision making and analytical skills
  • Possession of certifications in MS Windows, Linux, or Networking will be considered an advantage.
