Chartered Accountant

Role & responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records, including journals, ledgers, and financial statements. Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded and classified in accordance with accounting principles and organizational policies.

• Manage accounts payable functions, including processing invoices, verifying expenses, and issuing payments to vendors and suppliers. Monitor payment deadlines and ensure timely settlement of obligations to maintain good relationships with creditors.

• Oversee accounts receivable processes, including invoicing customers, recording sales transactions, and following up on outstanding payments. Monitor receivables aging and take appropriate actions to minimize bad debts and improve cash flow.

• Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records. Identify and investigate any discrepancies or irregularities in bank statements or accounting records and take corrective actions as necessary.

• Prepare periodic financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement. Present financial reports to management and provide insights and recommendations for decision-making.

• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Collaborate with department heads and finance team members to gather relevant data, analyze budget variances, and provide input for budget revisions and adjustments as needed.

• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements, including timely filing of tax returns and payments. Assist in preparing tax schedules, supporting documentation, and responding to tax inquiries and audits from regulatory authorities.
  Support internal and external audit processes by providing documentation, explanations, and assistance as required. Address audit findings and implement corrective actions to strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with audit recommendations.

Conduct financial analysis and performance evaluation to assess the organization's financial health and performance. Identify areas of efficiency improvement, cost reduction, or revenue enhancement and make recommendations for operational optimization.
