Job Description

The Chartered Accountant will manage all financial and accounting operations of the company, ensure compliance with statutory regulations, oversee cost control, and provide financial insights to support business decisions. The role also includes maintaining transparency in accounts related to drivers, brokers, and operational costs.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Maintain and update daily financial records (income, expenses, invoices, and payments).
  • Manage accounts payable (brokers, vendors, suppliers) and accounts receivable (customers).
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and payment gateways regularly.
  • Ensure accurate driver settlements and trip-based expense tracking.

2. Financial Reporting

  • Prepare

    monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

    (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
  • Present variance analysis between actual and budgeted figures.
  • Generate detailed

    cost-per-trip and profit-per-load

    reports for management.
  • Support management in budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking.

3. Taxation & Compliance

  • Handle all

    GST, TDS, and Income Tax

    related filings and returns.
  • Ensure compliance with

    ROC filings, statutory audits, and internal audits

    .
  • Liaise with external auditors and government authorities when required.
  • Maintain compliance documentation for financial and business regulations.

4. Payroll & Employee Accounting

  • Process monthly payroll and maintain employee tax and PF records.
  • Track and verify

    driver payments, advances, and deductions

    .
  • Prepare monthly payroll summaries and reconciliation reports.

5. Cost Management & Analysis

  • Analyze and control

    fuel expenses, maintenance costs, and toll charges

    .
  • Provide cost-optimization suggestions for better profitability.
  • Implement financial controls to reduce waste and fraud.

6. Budgeting & Planning

  • Assist management in preparing

    annual budgets and financial forecasts

    .
  • Monitor spending versus budgets and alert management to variances.
  • Evaluate new business proposals or asset purchases from a financial standpoint.

7. MIS & Data Management

  • Prepare

    Management Information System (MIS)

    reports for top management.
  • Maintain accounting systems (like Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, etc.).
  • Support integration of finance data with

    dispatch, load, and driver management systems

8. Communication & Coordination

  • Work closely with the

    dispatch, operations, and HR departments

    for accurate financial data.
  • Coordinate with external partners

    brokers, customers, and banks

    .
  • Support management with financial insights for strategic decisions.
