Character Concept Artist

You will be working as a Character Concept Artist for a company that is at the forefront of virtual character platforms. Your role will involve blending imagination, character lore, and design specifications to create accurate character concepts for various projects. This includes developing thumbnail sketches, turn around sheets, and posed character illustrations that align with the artistic vision and narrative essence of design requirements. Your responsibilities will include creating visually compelling and original character concepts, producing rough sketches and detailed concept art to guide 3D modelers and animators, ensuring each character reflects distinct personalities and backstories, collaborating with art directors and other team members to refine characters, and ensuring that character concepts are functional for 3D modeling, animation, and integration into games or cinematics. As a successful candidate, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Illustration, or a related field. You should have a strong foundation in anatomy, perspective, composition, and color theory. Proficiency in digital painting software such as Photoshop, Procreate, or Illustrator is required. Familiarity with 3D modeling workflows is a plus. A passion for gaming, storytelling, and immersive entertainment is essential, along with the ability to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines. You should be a strong team player capable of collaborating with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
