The Chapter Lead, Full Stack Engineering, WRB Tech is a pivotal role that involves hands-on development encompassing both front-end and back-end aspects. In addition to technical contributions, this role holds accountability for managing and fostering the capabilities of their Chapter members. Here are the key responsibilities associated with this role: In terms of strategy, the Chapter Lead oversees the implementation of functional standards and best practices within the Chapter. They provide technical guidance and support to Chapter members, ensuring the quality of the code repository, and acting as a conduit for wider domain strategies. Moreover, they prioritize addressing technical debt and focus on enhancing the capabilities of the team rather than owning applications or delivery. From a business perspective, the Chapter Lead plays a critical role in squad delivery for their craft, ensuring a balance of skills and capabilities across teams. They collaborate with various stakeholders such as the Chief Product Owner, Hive Tech Lead, and Hive Leadership to evolve the craft towards automation, simplification, and innovative utilization of market trends. Process-wise, the Chapter Lead is responsible for implementing and adhering to Change Delivery Standards throughout the product or service lifecycle. They define clear role descriptions and expectations for the team members, following the chapter operating model to enhance the team's capabilities continually. Regarding people and talent management, the Chapter Lead focuses on developing the capabilities and performance of their Chapter members as the top priority. They review metrics related to capabilities and performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous enhancement within the Chapter. In terms of risk management, the Chapter Lead ensures effective capacity risk management concerning attrition and leave plans. They adhere to risk management standards specific to their domain, following common practices to mitigate risks effectively. Governance is another crucial aspect of the role, where the Chapter Lead ensures that all deliverables and artifacts meet the required standards and policies, such as SCB Governance Standards and ESDLC. Qualifications for this role include: - 8+ years of experience in developing web applications - Experience in contributing to a global diverse organization to enhance technical capabilities - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) - Proficiency in Swift and/or Objective-C programming languages is a plus - Knowledge of UI/UX design principles and collaboration with designers for visually appealing interfaces - Experience with back-end technologies like Node.js, Python, or Java, along with other technical competencies such as RESTful APIs, databases, JavaScript, ReactJS/Angular/Vue, and CI/CD Join us at Standard Chartered, an international bank committed to driving commerce and prosperity through our unique diversity.
