Chapter Lead - Content Services Technology

As an Engineering Manager at CommBank, you will lead teams of Engineers with a focus on cultivating a growth mindset and supporting creative and innovative ways of working. Your role involves driving engineering global best practices and standards, establishing technical roadmaps, reducing technical debt, and coaching and supporting engineers. Additionally, you will be responsible for establishing peer-to-peer learning and mentoring and ensuring the creation of engineering outcomes. Your key responsibilities will include: - Building, leading, and inspiring an engaged team of Software Engineers across various levels - Enhancing the software engineering chapter, fostering a security mindset, and embedding well-architected principles as part of the SDLC - Implementing best practices to continuously improve system stability and observability - Providing strong technical leadership and collaborating with product owners to engineer high-quality, robust, and scalable solutions - Supporting complex incidents and escalations in service management - Collaborating with others to resolve service issues and automate repetitive tasks - Empowering the team to manage their work effectively, promoting a culture of continuous learning, and ensuring recognition for effort - Providing effective coaching to engineers and establishing mechanisms for peer-to-peer learning and mentoring - Practicing Agile principles, fostering a culture of collaboration, and iterative improvement to achieve business goals Essential Skills: - 15+ years of experience in Java/.Net - Expertise in SDLC, ITIL, architecture, design, implementation, deployment, integration, and technology transformations - Experience in Software and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) - Proficiency in coding languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, Java, or .NET - Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Kubernetes, EKS, AKS, Docker, and Microservices - Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and tools like CI/CD tools, security scanning tools, and monitoring tools - Proficient in using Jira for sprint planning, backlog grooming, and Agile ceremonies Education Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree/master's degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology If you're already part of the Commonwealth Bank Group, including Bankwest and x15ventures, you'll need to apply through Sidekick for a valid application submission.
