Chandrapur Cancer Care Foundation
Chandrapur with a population of approximately 35 lakhs is situated in the catchment of Nagpur city that has the second highest incidence of cancer in the state (89 new cases per lakh population). Experts believe that this number is an underestimate given the fact that a large number of cases do not enter the formal healthcare system for diagnosis and treatment as well the fact that our cancer registries and associated systems/ processes are not geared to capture all the cases of the disease. In order to meet the immediate needs in the catchment area and improve cancer related indicators and outcomes, a Section 8 company under the Companies Act, 2013 called Chandrapur Cancer Care Foundation (CCCF) with representation from the Government of Maharashtra, Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), District Mineral Foundation (DMF) and Tata Trusts has been incorporated.
