Cath Lab Nurse

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization procedures, including pre-procedure assessments and continuous monitoring.
• Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures such as angiograms, angioplasty, stent placements, and electrophysiology studies.
• Monitor patients vital signs and hemodynamic status throughout procedures.
• Administer medications and manage patient care according to established protocols.
• Maintain sterility and ensure adherence to all safety and infection control standards.
• Operate and maintain specialized cath lab equipment and technology.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, technicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency situations.
• Document all procedures and patient care accurately and thoroughly.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Valid and current nursing license.
• Proven experience in cardiac catheterization lab nursing.
• Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and hemodynamics.
• Proficiency in assisting with interventional cardiac procedures.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and adherence to procedural protocols.
• Ability to perform effectively in high-stress and emergency situations.
• Familiarity with specialized cath lab equipment and related technologies.
