Cashier

Job Summary

The Cashier is responsible for handling all billing and payment transactions accurately and efficiently in the jewellery showroom. The role requires a high level of integrity, attention to detail, and customer service, as the position involves handling high-value transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle billing for gold, diamond, silver, and gemstone jewellery.
• Accurately process customer payments via cash, card, UPI, bank transfer, and cheque.
• Generate invoices, receipts, and credit notes using billing software.
• Verify jewellery weight, making charges, taxes (GST), and discounts before billing.
• Maintain daily cash balance and reconcile cash, card, and digital payments.
• Prepare daily sales reports and submit them to accounts/store manager.
• Safely handle cash and ensure proper storage as per company policy.
• Coordinate with sales staff for order billing, advances, and final settlements.
• Handle customer queries related to billing, payments, and invoices.
• Assist in gold exchange, old gold purchase billing, and scheme payments if applicable.
• Ensure compliance with GST and company accounting procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum Graduate / 12th Pass (Commerce preferred).
• 1–3 years of experience as a cashier in a jewellery or retail showroom.
• Knowledge of GST billing and jewellery billing formats.
• Familiarity with jewellery ERP or POS systems.
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Honest, reliable, and able to handle confidential financial information.
• Good communication and customer handling skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in gold exchange and old jewellery purchase billing.
• Knowledge of hallmarking and jewellery pricing structure.
• Basic accounting knowledge.

Working Conditions

• Retail showroom environment.
• Standing for long hours during peak sales periods.
• Weekends and festive season work required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
