Cashier (for restaurant)

You will be responsible for greeting customers warmly and responding to their inquiries. Operating the cash register or POS system to process sales transactions will also be part of your duties. Issuing receipts, refunds, or exchanges as per company policies is important. You will need to count and balance the cash register at the beginning and end of each shift. It will be your responsibility to maintain cleanliness and orderliness at the checkout area. Additionally, you may need to assist with stocking shelves or displays when needed. Bagging or packaging purchased items carefully and efficiently is also part of the role. Following company procedures for handling returns, voids, and price overrides is crucial. You must report any discrepancies, errors, or suspicious transactions to management. Providing information on products, promotions, and store policies is also expected from you. Qualifications required for this role include a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous cashier or customer service experience is preferred. Basic math skills and the ability to handle transactions accurately are necessary. Familiarity with POS systems is a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are important. You should be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Being honest, reliable, and punctual are essential qualities for this position.
