Cameraman

Immediate Joiner Preferable - Walk in (Timings 10:00 am to 2:00 pm)

We are looking for a skilled and creative Cameraman to join the Kumudam Channel team in Chennai. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in camera handling, lighting, and framing for news, interviews, feature programs, and digital content.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate professional video cameras for:
• News coverage
• Interviews & talk shows
• Feature stories
• Events, press meets, and outdoor shoots
• Social media & digital content
• Coordinate with reporters, producers, and editors to plan and execute shoots.
• Ensure proper lighting, framing, and sound setup before recording.
• Capture high-quality footage that aligns with editorial standards.
• Manage and maintain camera equipment, batteries, memory cards, and accessories.
• Troubleshoot on-site technical issues quickly and effectively.
• Transfer raw footage to the editing team on time.
• Follow broadcast deadlines and be available for urgent field assignments.

Skills & Qualifications

• 2–5+ years of experience as a cameraman (news/media experience preferred).
• Strong knowledge of DSLR / ENG cameras, gimbals, lighting gear, and audio equipment.
• Ability to handle fast-paced field reporting conditions.
• Good understanding of camera angles, composition, and storytelling through visuals.
• Basic knowledge of video formats, frame rates, and file management.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends when required.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Tamil language proficiency preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Diploma / Degree in Visual Communication, Film Studies, Media, or related field.
• Experience in digital news, YouTube content, or short-form content creation.
• Basic editing skills (Adobe Premiere / Final Cut Pro) is an added advantage.

Compensation

• Salary based on experience and relevant skills.
• Field allowances provided for special assignments.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
