CAM/CAD Engineer

About the Role: We are seeking a skilled CAM/CAD Engineer with hands-on experience in 3D printing, plastic, and metal part manufacturing . The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, prototyping, and managing manufacturing projects while ensuring precise file organization and documentation. Experience in the medical device industry and compliance with relevant standards will be an added advantage. Key Responsibilities: 3D Part Design (Plastic & Metal): Design and develop plastic and metal components, ensuring adherence to product specifications, manufacturability, and industry standards. Material Selection: Evaluate and select appropriate materials based on mechanical properties, biocompatibility, tolerances, and cost efficiency. 3D Printing & Prototyping: Create rapid prototypes using advanced 3D printing technologies and validate designs through feasibility studies and testing. Manufacturing Process Optimization: Optimize designs for manufacturability (DFM), ensuring cost-effective and scalable production solutions. Project Management: Plan, execute, and monitor manufacturing projects, ensuring timelines, quality standards, and client requirements are met. File Management & Documentation: Maintain a structured repository of design files, technical documents, and project records for traceability and ease of access. Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinate with design, engineering, and production teams to ensure seamless integration of components into final products. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure product designs comply with relevant medical device standards and manufacturing regulations. Qualifications & Skills: B.Tech/M.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 3 years of experience in part design and manufacturing (plastic & metal), preferably in the medical device industry . Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, MasterCAM). Industrial Design/ Product Design skills will be preferred. Practical experience with 3D printing technologies and additive manufacturing processes . Strong understanding of injection molding , metal fabrication, and DFM principles. Excellent project management and organizational skills , with attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain proper file segregation and documentation.
