CAM Programmer

As a CNC Programmer for 5-axis VMC - Turnmill machines, your primary responsibility will involve developing, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs using CAM software. You will be tasked with analyzing engineering drawings and technical specifications to determine machining processes and tool requirements. Identifying and resolving issues related to programming, machining, and equipment performance will be crucial aspects of your role. Additionally, you will play a key role in improving machining efficiency, reducing cycle times, and minimizing material waste through process optimization. Your expertise in CAD/CAM software, such as Mastercam and Solidcam, will be essential for 5-axis programming. A strong understanding of CNC, VMC machine controls, G-code, and M-code will also be required to excel in this position. You should be adept at interpreting complex engineering drawings and specifications, as well as possess deep knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and materials. Excellent problem-solving skills will be necessary to troubleshoot and resolve machining and programming issues efficiently. Effective communication with team members, engineers, designers, and machinists will be essential for collaboration to support production and process improvement. With a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in CNC and VMC programming, including specific expertise in 5-axis machining, you will be well-equipped to succeed in this role. In addition to your technical skills, regular maintenance and calibration of CNC equipment will be part of your responsibilities to ensure optimal performance. Ensuring that parts are manufactured to meet required quality standards and tolerances will also be a key aspect of your role.
