Job Title: Hiring for Cafe Barista & Kitchen Associate + Steward (2 Roles)

Location: HSR Layout, Bangalore

Type: Full-time (Weekends required)

Sama is a new specialty coffee & snack cafe focused on great coffee, simple comfort food, and warm, friendly service. We are hiring for **two key roles** to run our daily operations smoothly.

1. Cafe Barista & Kitchen Associate (All-Rounder)

What you will do:

- Prepare all coffee and beverage orders: espresso, cappuccino, latte, cold coffee, hot chocolate, etc., as per our recipes.

- Operate and maintain the espresso machine and grinder: daily cleaning, backflushing, basic adjustment (training will be provided).

- Prepare **simple food items**, including:

- French fries and basic fried snacks (using fryer/oven).

- Sandwiches, toasties, wraps, garlic bread, and simple salads.

- Basic **pasta dishes** following standard recipes (boiling pasta, heating sauce, assembling and plating).

- Simple Bakery items

- Heat & plate outsourced bakery items (muffins, puffs, cakes, etc.).

- Take customer orders, handle billing/POS, and serve with a friendly attitude when needed.

- Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of coffee bar and kitchen area; follow all SOPs.

- Assist with basic inventory checks: refilling ingredients, checking low stock, and proper storage.

Requirements:

- 1–3 years experience in a **cafe / QSR / coffee shop / fast-casual outlet** preferred.

- Basic barista skills (espresso, milk steaming); latte art is a plus.

- Comfortable with **light cooking**, including fries, sandwiches, and simple pasta.

- Able to multitask between coffee bar, light kitchen work, and service during rush hours.

- Presentable, punctual, and customer-friendly.

- Willing to work weekends and shifts.

2. Steward / Cafe Support

What you will do:

- Support barista and kitchen team with day-to-day operations.

- Handle table clearing, cleaning, and resetting; ensure the cafe looks neat at all times.

- Wash dishes, cups, and basic kitchen utensils; keep sink and back area clean.

- Run food and drinks to tables; assist in packing takeaway/delivery orders.

- Help with basic prep work (cutting, refilling, organizing) as instructed by the Barista & Kitchen Associate or Manager.

- Assist with opening/closing duties: dusting, mopping, garbage disposal, and arranging furniture.

Requirements:

- Prior experience in hotel/cafe/restaurant housekeeping or steward role is a plus, not mandatory.

- Hard-working, reliable, and willing to learn.

- Comfortable with cleaning tasks and supporting roles.

- Willing to work weekends and flexible shifts.
