CAD/CAM Engineer

As a CAD CAM Designer at a Hardware Manufacturing export house located in Aligarh, India, you will utilize your expertise in gravity casting, sand casting, forging, pressure zinc die casting, and jig & fixture tool design. With 5-7 years of experience in the export manufacturing and automobile sectors, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing tooling, fixtures, and components for casting and forging processes to ensure high-quality production standards and efficient manufacturing processes. Your key responsibilities will include creating and modifying 3D models and 2D drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks for casting molds, forging dies, pressure zinc die casting dies, and manufacturing tooling. You will design jigs, fixtures, and assembly tooling that align with production capabilities and ensure high precision. Additionally, you will develop CNC programs for machining components, optimize toolpaths using CAM software, and program VMC for precision machining. In the realm of casting and forging design, you will optimize material flow, cooling rates, and minimize defects in gravity casting and sand casting molds. You will also design forging dies and tooling for efficient material deformation and develop precision die-casting tools for pressure zinc die casting processes. Furthermore, you will create and modify jigs and fixtures for assembly and machining operations to enhance productivity and reduce setup times. Collaboration with production engineers, quality control teams, and project managers will be essential to ensure designs meet technical specifications and are production-ready. You will support prototype development, participate in design reviews, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure compliance with quality standards and industry regulations. To be successful in this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field, along with 5-7 years of CAD CAM design experience. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CNC programming, and CAM software is required, as well as a strong understanding of casting processes, forging operations, and tooling design. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential for optimizing designs and collaborating effectively in cross-functional teams. Preferred skills include familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools, prior experience in export manufacturing, knowledge of international quality standards, and an understanding of automobile sector requirements for tooling and part design.
