CAD Technician - Highways

As an Assistant, you will be supporting the Senior Technician in technical analysis and ground data analysis to prepare base maps. Your responsibilities will include: - Assisting the Senior Technician in technical analysis - Analyzing ground data and preparing base maps - Creating graphic representations of land parcels or road sections (plan, profile, and section) - Annotating work to be done such as barrier, border, and pavement marking - Preparing highway, roadway, and detour path designs - Designing plans and profiles, cross sections, typical sections, and details - Designing temporary or permanent signage - Preparing installation slips - Performing any other duties as assigned The successful candidate for this position is expected to have 3-7 years of highway work experience with a consultancy firm or developer. International experience or experience in a Global design center would be advantageous. Key competencies and skills required for this role include: - Proficiency in CAD, Microstation, and Microsoft Office - Knowledge of InRoads, Openroads, Infraworks, and Civil3D would be beneficial - Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously - Understanding of Canadian standards and design practices Desired skills for this role include the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision, strong organizational skills, good written and spoken communication skills (fluent in English), commitment to teamwork, and cultural awareness.
