Cad Technician - Electrical

Role Overview: You will be working as part of a large engineering group, focusing on carrying out Electrical Design activities and supporting the Electrical Engineer in the design and installation of electrical plant & equipment in both brownfield and greenfield facilities. Your role will involve utilizing AutoCAD software to prepare various electrical drawings, including SLD's, Block Diagrams, ICD's, equipment layouts, schematics, cable Routing Drawings, and plot plans. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing 2D and 3D plant layouts for Electrical Equipment in alignment with project requirements. It is essential that you are self-motivated, capable of planning your own work, and can collaborate effectively with the wider electrical engineering and project team. Furthermore, the ability to create tasks, work breakdown structures, and estimate man-hours for projects and tender documentation will be advantageous in this role. Key Responsibilities: - Create and modify detail drawings using 2D/3D AutoCAD software based on information provided by engineers and designers from various disciplines. - Utilize lighting design software, Navisworks, and Revit as required. - Develop all electrical drawings, design details, and other design concepts using AutoCAD. - Coordinate with different discipline groups to gather necessary information for electrical engineering design. - Read and interpret 2D and 3D CAD drawings to assist in engineering problem investigations and clash avoidance. - Generate material take-offs from drawings for estimating purposes and support the estimating process. - Manage multiple projects simultaneously, accurately predicting the time needed to complete individual scopes of work. - Assist in establishing and enforcing proper CAD standards and procedures within the organization. - Work independently and collaboratively within a cross-disciplinary team, demonstrating self-motivation and strong communication skills. Qualifications: - Electrical Engineering qualification to Diploma or Bachelor's Degree level. - City & Guilds 4351 AutoCAD levels 2 & 3 (2D&3D) or equivalent certification. - Proficient in CAD skills, with significant experience in using AutoCAD Software. - Autodesk AutoCAD certified user certification.,
