Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities of Cabinet Designer:

1. Preparing draft drawings for client:

  • Draft cabinets for Kitchen, bedrooms, or other loose furniture with the appropriate material schedule, construction method and other important details to obtain an accurate quite for the material cost.
  • The end goal for the employee is to obtain the appropriate material cost for the furniture the client requested.

2. Prepare Render for Client:

  • Prepare a legible and well rendered drawing of the kitchen, bedroom or other loose furniture.
  • The end goal for the employee is to help boost sales by giving very nice render tot the client.

3. Communication:

  • The employee is to put in effort to communicate effectively with the supervisor. The employee must follow the supervisor communications structure for optimal performance.
  • The end goal is to avoid double work on drafting drawings and renders for the client and sales purpose.

Post- Probation Skills and Competency Milestones

By achieving the following milestones, the Cabinet Joiner will have demonstrated the skills and knowledge necessary to continue in their role beyond the probationary period.

1. Experience and proficiency in the SCWOODWORKS Catalogue:

  • Experience: The employee must develop substantial knowledge of the companys catalogue and material usage.
  • Application: The knowledge should be acquired through the consistent repetition of projects over time, including familiarity with and recall of previous projects.
  • Outcome: Such proficiency will reduce the need for frequent supervisor intervention and enable faster, more efficient project completion.

2. Preparation of drawing foe S2M:

  • Technical Skill: The Employer must be capable of finalising furniture drawings with the correct materials and construction methods, ready for production. Pre-production drawings must be accurate and detailed to the extent that carpenters can clearly interpret and execute the project, particularly where customisation is involved.
  • Communication: The Employee must maintain excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with the supervisor and carpenters, using assembly sheets, drawings, and other documents as required.

3. Attention to Details and Quality Control:

  • The Employee must consistently demonstrate a high level of attention to detail during the pre-production stage to prevent costly and time-consuming errors.
  • Quality control measures must be applied proactively to ensure all outputs meet the companys standards prior to production.
