Buyside Credit - Lead Analyst

Role Overview: You will be joining a global buy-side credit research team as an experienced analyst, supporting a leading investment firm. Your main responsibilities will include conducting in-depth credit analysis and portfolio monitoring tasks on Investment Grade (IG) and High Yield (HY) portfolios. It is essential for you to have a strong understanding of fixed income concepts, credit assessment, and technical writing skills to excel in this role. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct thorough credit analysis of IG and HY companies, covering business, financial, and peer analysis for both corporates and financial institutions. - Build and update credit models with KPI-based projections, debt capital structure analysis, covenant assessments, and recovery analysis. - Prepare credit reports, initiate coverage, and create concise earning notes for assigned portfolios. - Proactively track company events, peer group activities, and industry information to ensure regular portfolio surveillance. - Develop a deep understanding of diverse sector operating models and key financial metrics to provide investment opinions. - Communicate effectively with portfolio managers on assigned credits and stay updated on industry trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes. - Utilize data sources like Bloomberg and S&P Capital IQ for research purposes. - Knowledge of relative valuation and drafting opinion-based bond recommendations is an advantage. - Work experience in High Yield (HY) and Due Diligence (DD) would be beneficial. Qualifications Required: - Background in conducting credit analysis of corporates and financial institutions. - Strong understanding of credit principles, credit rating methodologies, report writing, capital structure, EBITDA, and ratio analysis. - Strong quantitative skills for building and updating financial models. - Detail-oriented with a keen interest in financial markets and credit analysis. - Ability to work under pressure, handle tight deadlines, and multitask effectively. - Capacity to think and work independently.
