Business/Functional Analyst

Job Description

As a Business/Functional Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in driving business success through analysis, planning, and the development of solutions. Your primary responsibility will be crafting user stories for transforming an existing Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to a modern web-based platform. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Collaborate with IT Project Managers, Development Teams, and stakeholders to identify and prioritize business requirements Analyze current business processes, systems, and workflows to identify improvement areas Translate business requirements into functional specifications and technical documentation Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle Lead Scrum ceremonies for your scrum team Participate in solution design sessions and provide architectural input Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure alignment with business needs and quality standards Other Duties: Support end-users through troubleshooting and training Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies Travel as needed Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field 3+ years experience as a Business Analyst in a tech-driven setting Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies Experience with LIMS is highly desirable Agile methodology and SDLC knowledge preferred Business Analysis certifications (CBAP, CCBA) are a plus Working Relationships: Internal contacts include Project Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, Subject Matter Experts, Laboratory Personnel, and the LIMS Implementation Team Knowledge: Environmental, Analytical, or General Science is beneficial Familiarity with project tools such as Jira and Microsoft Teams Understanding of LIMS and general IT terminology Attendance: Regular attendance is essential and expected
