Job Summary:

A "Retail Subject Matter Expert" (SME) role typically involves leveraging extensive retail knowledge and experience to guide strategic decisions, solve complex problems, and drive improvements within a retail environment, often working with new ideas, innovative solutions, and cross-functional teams. While specific duties vary by company and position, a Retail SME can be involved in areas like customer engagement and data analysis, inventory and merchandising, sales strategies, operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.

Key Aspects of a Retail SME Role:

• Expertise and Problem-Solving:

Retail SMEs are expected to possess deep knowledge of the retail industry, understand industry trends, and be able to identify and creatively solve challenges impacting sales, operations, or customer experience.

• Strategic Input:

They contribute to developing and implementing strategies for areas such as customer engagement, sales initiatives, and inventory management, often working to improve processes and drive revenue growth.

• Collaboration:

Retail SMEs often work closely with other departments and individuals, including sales teams, management, and potentially other SMEs, to share insights and implement solutions across the organization.
