Business Analyst

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our Insurance Data Product Squad, part of the broader enterprise data management team. This is a critical role responsible for bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure delivery of trusted, scalable, and high-quality data products for the insurance domain. You will work alongside product owners, data engineers, Power BI engineers and governance teams to define and deliver enterprise data products that power strategic decision-making. You will play a key role in ensuring that our insurance data products are built with a clear understanding of business processes, regulatory requirements, and operational use cases.

Business Analyst Responsibilities:

This role is responsible for gathering and analyzing business requirements to ensure they are effectively translated into data solutions that align with organizational goals. You will be accountable for driving clear communication between stakeholders and the Product Owner and Tech Leads, ensuring the project objectives are met and aligned with business needs. Additionally, you will play a critical role in enhancing team efficiency and delivering value-driven outcomes.

Interfaces with business owners, IT, and SME’s to facilitate requirements gathering and UAT / Change management during deployment phase.

Proactively drives requirement gathering in partnership with the Product Owner by collaborating with stakeholders to understand their data needs and translates them into detailed requirements.

Analyzes data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform business decisions.

Documents business requirements, data processes, and analysis results.

Communicates findings and recommendations to Product Owner, team, and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, data definitions, and process flows that support development of scalable data products.

Ensures the accuracy and quality of data through validation and testing.

Proactively identifies and champions opportunities to further streamline and improve the business process.

Operationally trouble shoots complex issues and enables additional collaboration where needed to clearly identify requirements.

Clarifies scope, and recommends alternative solutions, project strategy, and deliverable prioritization in partnership with the Product Owner.

Influences cross-functionally and demonstrates the ability to collaborate effectively with technology, application, compliance, and audit personnel at multiple levels.

Evaluates project requests in terms of strategic direction of business and opportunities to leverage existing technologies/applications.

Actively participates in all project phases such as requirements, architecture, design and testing to provide guidance to the team.

Assist in defining and tracking KPIs to measure the success, completeness, and quality of data products.

Work with internal users to understand their data consumption needs and support training, onboarding, and documentation for new data assets.

Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying delivery bottlenecks, data quality risks, and opportunities to improve business alignment.

Provide expert guidance and support to stakeholders in defining data models, data hierarchies, and data requirements.

General Requirements:

Proactive, continuous communication with Product Owner and project sponsors on project progress, issues, risks, and mitigation.

Maintains key project artifacts such as user stories, project charter, product vision, product backlogs, sprint plans, product roadmap, and release plan.

Provides weekly project status updates, sprint reports, and monthly executive status updates.

Manages communication with business users; keeps users informed and updated regularly. Adapts project updates/presentations to the audience.

Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Ability to work at a fast pace and cope with conflicting deadlines.

Knowledge of data privacy restrictions on the use of data.

Requirements:

Diploma or degree in technical discipline or similar.

5+ years related to Data Project Management or Business Analysis experience required.

Data Analysis: Proficiency in analyzing data using tools like SQL, Excel, Python, or R

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills – must be comfortable speaking and writing to senior level executives.

Database Management: Understanding of database systems and data warehousing.

Reporting Tools: Experience with BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView.
