Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Embedded Linux BSP Engineer to lead the development, porting, and customization of Board Support Packages (BSPs), device drivers, and system-level components for embedded platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Linux kernel internals, hardware bring-up, and functional safety standards, along with proven leadership capabilities to guide technical teams and resolve escalations.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and port Board Support Packages (Bootloader and Linux Kernel) for embedded platforms.
  • Customize and develop Linux device drivers and kernel modules.
  • Configure I/O initialization, startup routines, and system configuration files.
  • Manage network and memory subsystems, file systems, and OS-level configurations.
  • Extend and optimize Linux kernels and bootloaders for specific hardware platforms.
  • Perform board bring-up, hardware validation, and debugging using industry-standard tools.
  • Act as the technical Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for project teams and stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Ensure timely resolution of technical issues and escalations.
  • Propose and implement robust technical solutions aligned with project goals.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in 

    C/C++ programming

     with a solid understanding of object-oriented design principles.
  • Hands-on experience with 

    Linux device drivers

    , subsystems, and embedded Linux environments.
  • Expertise in 

    Linux IPC mechanisms

    : Sockets, Shared Memory, Message Queues, D-Bus.
  • Familiarity with 

    POSIX APIs

    , synchronization techniques, multi-threading, and memory management.
  • Experience with platforms such as 

    Qualcomm, MediaTek, Nvidia, Telechips

    , and 

    ARM architecture

    .
  • Deep understanding of 

    Embedded Linux BSPs

     and Linux kernel internals.
  • Proficient in using debugging tools such as:
    • JTAG-based hardware emulators
    • Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Protocol Analyzers
    • Kernel debugging tools (e.g., ftrace)
  • Exposure to 

    Functional Safety standards (ISO 26262)

     including:
    • FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
    • HARA (Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment)
    • FTA (Fault Tree Analysis)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in automotive or safety-critical embedded systems.
  • Knowledge of secure boot, trusted execution environments, and system security.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.
