Bioinformatics Support Scientist

As a Bioinformatics Support Scientist at Basepair, you will play a crucial role in providing expert technical assistance to customers using our bioinformatics platform. Your deep understanding of bioinformatics pipelines and software development will be key to troubleshooting issues, guiding users, and contributing to product improvements. Key Responsibilities: - Provide timely and effective technical support to customers via email, chat, and phone. - Troubleshoot and resolve customer inquiries related to bioinformatics analyses, pipeline execution, and software functionality. - Apply hands-on knowledge of common bioinformatics pipelines and tools such as RNA-seq, DNA-seq, and variant calling. - Clearly and concisely explain complex bioinformatics concepts to users with varying levels of expertise. - Understand and interpret results from various bioinformatics analyses. - Assist customers in optimizing their analyses and customizing pipelines to their specific needs. - Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, tutorials, and FAQs to support users. - Provide valuable feedback to the product and development teams based on customer interactions. Qualifications Required: - 3 years of relevant experience is a must. - Master's or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field. - Proven experience in technical support or customer service in a scientific or technical environment. - Strong hands-on experience with common bioinformatics pipelines and tools. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain complex concepts clearly. - Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, R, and command-line interfaces. - Experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS, Google Cloud is preferred.
