Job Description IIHS is looking to hire a skilled and experienced architect who will be responsible for supporting design and documentation of campus development activities, including but not restricted to site planning, architectural design, detailed working drawings, 3d models, as-built drawings and analysis of various sustainability parameters. The work will also involve direct architectural intervention as per regular business practices, as well as research, publications, prototyping and creation of policies, standards and guidelines. Activities and Tasks Responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following: Conducting literature review and research for existing practices, standards, and innovations; Visiting sites for primary data collection, including spatial, quantitative, and qualitative data; Preparing architectural design, interior design, working drawings, renderings, representations and details, 3d models in Revit and Rhino, and scaled physical building models; Coordinating with stakeholders for BIM integration pertaining to architectural, civil, interior and services; Coordinating with design and execution teams for proposed and ongoing activities at the site to ensure that deadlines, procedures, and other project requirements are met; Assisting in the documentation of campus development activities and preparation of teaching-learning material; Coordinating with the Word Lab, Media Lab and Design & Communications teams for campus publications; Organizing workshops and consultations with key stakeholders. Additionally, the incumbent is expected to be involved in the full range of activities at IIHS; the candidate will thus also be expected to be part of IIHS’ teaching programmes, its public conferences and conventions, and its capacity-building programmes through executive education and short courses; Providing support to other IIHS activities including academics, research, training, practice, operations and others; Participating in all activities of Institution-Building at IIHS; carrying out tasks as assigned by IIHS; and traveling on IIHS work within or outside the country as and when needed. Structure and Reporting The architect will report to the Lead – Campus Development at IIHS and will be required to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of internal teams and external individuals, organizations, and students. Person Specification The ideal candidate should have A professional degree in Architecture and/ or a Master’s in Architecture/ Planning; 5-8 years of prior experience, preferably in the design and execution of sustainable buildings; Prior experience working in BIM for architectural, civil, interior and services integration; Revit and Rhino platforms; AutoCAD, SketchUp, InDesign and Photoshop; Demonstrable knowledge of sustainable building practices and methods, embodied energy analysis and life cycle analysis; An understanding of building codes, environmental regulations, and green building rating systems; The willingness to travel from time to time as per project requirements; Effective verbal and written communication skills; Flexibility and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment; Excellent organizational skills and effective team working skills; Software skills BIM for architectural, civil, interior and services integration, Revit, Rhino, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, illustrator, InDesign; MS office; Model making; 3ds Max (optional).
