Job Overview:
The Construction Planning and Billing Engineer plays a crucial role in the successful execution of construction projects by overseeing project planning, scheduling, and billing activities. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and a keen understanding of construction processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Scheduling:
Develop comprehensive project plans and schedules, considering all relevant factors such as resources, time constraints, and budgetary limitations.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with proct objectives and timelines.
Regularly update and monitor project schedules, identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
Billing and Cost Control:
Create accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, taking into account materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
Prepare and submit progress invoices, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements and regulatory requirements.
Monitor project expenditures against budget and provide regular financial reports to project stakeholders.
Contract Administration:
Review and analyse construction contracts to understand billing requirements and milestones.
Ensure adherence to contract terms and conditions in all billing activities.
Collaborate with legal and procurement teams to resolve any contractual discrepancies.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather relevant information for planning and billing purposes.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to provide updates on project progress, billing status, and any issues that may arise.
Quality Assurance:
Implement quality control measures to ensure accuracy in project plans, schedules, and billing documents.
Conduct regular audits to identify and rectify discrepancies in billing and cost-related data.
Risk Management:
Identify potential risks related to planning and billing activities and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Work proactively to resolve issues that may impact project timelines or financial outcomes.
Qualification/ Eligibility Criteria:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management.
Minimum 6 years proven experience in construction planning, scheduling, monitoring and billing.
Proficient in extracting quantities out of AutoCAD drawings.
Well-experienced in preparation of RA (Running Account) bills of clients and sub-contractors.
Ability to understand BOQs (Bill of Quantities) of construction finishing works.
Capable of conducting rate analysis in construction finishing works (part of Tendering
