Bid & Design / Designer role

Job Purpose

To provide design, specification, and bid support for BENELUX & NESEE regions and Global Accounts. The role focuses on creating innovative workspace solutions, accurate costing, and compelling presentations to meet client requirements and enhance Haworths value proposition. This position ensures timely delivery of design and tender responses while maintaining alignment with global strategies and standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Project Support

• Develop creative workspace layouts using SketchUp, VRay, and other visualization tools.
• Prepare cost estimates, quotes, and profit margin calculations using MS Excel.
• Create presentation materials, mood boards, and renders for client proposals.
• Maintain knowledge of Haworth and competitor product lines to deliver competitive designs.
• Utilize digital tools for 3D modeling, rendering, and virtual presentations.

Bidding & Tender

• Understand tender requirements and prepare accurate responses.
• Create design specifications, space planning, and floor layouts for bids.
• Coordinate with factories and third-party suppliers for pricing and lead times.
• Consolidate and verify all tender documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Develop case studies and presentation materials (PowerPoint, InDesign, Ceros) for client pitches.
• Support e-bids and ensure timely submission of all proposals.

Collaboration & Coordination

• Act as liaison between customers, dealers, and internal teams to resolve issues and ensure consistency.
• Work closely with visualization, finance, sustainability, and engineering teams for project deliverables.
• Maintain organized archives of drawings, quotations, and project files.

Relationships

• Internal:

  Frequent interaction with design teams, visualization team, customer service, finance, and product marketing.

• External:

  Regular contact with dealers, key accounts, and prospects for design, tender, and project-related discussions.

Requirements

• Education:

  Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• Experience:

  Minimum 2 years in commercial design or bid support.

• Skills:

• Strong portfolio showcasing design creativity and proficiency.
• Advanced MS Excel skills for budgeting and margin analysis.
• Proficiency in SketchUp, VRay, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, PCON, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Basic understanding of workspace design principles.
• Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written).
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
