BI Platforms Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities

• Platform Administration & Maintenance:

  Administer and maintain

  Power BI Service

  ,

  Power BI Report Server

  , and

  Tableau Server/Cloud

  . You will be responsible for configuring, monitoring, and optimizing the performance, capacity, and availability of these platforms, with a preference for

  AWS Cloud

  experience.

• Security & Governance:

  Manage user roles, permissions, and security policies, with a strong understanding of

  Active Directory, SSO/SAML

  , and

  Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)

  . You will implement governance frameworks to ensure compliance with data policies and maintain security measures to protect platforms from threats.

• Troubleshooting & Support:

  Monitor scheduled data refreshes and troubleshoot failures. You will also provide technical support to users, resolving issues related to system access, performance, and software. This includes acting as a key point of contact for any platform performance and uptime issues.

• Automation & Upgrades:

  Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting languages like

  PowerShell

  or

  Python

  . You will manage

  BI

  platform upgrades, patches, and migrations, ensuring minimal service interruptions.

• Collaboration & Documentation:

  Collaborate with

  BI

  developers, data engineers, and business users to ensure efficient platform usage. You will create and maintain detailed documentation of configurations, procedures, and change management.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree with 5-6+ years of experience, a Master's degree with 2-3+ years, or a Diploma with 8+ years of experience in Business, Engineering, IT, or a related field.
• Overall, 5+ years of experience in

  BI

  Platform Administration is preferred.
• 3+ years of experience administering

  Power BI Service

  and/or

  Power BI Report Server

  .
• 2+ years of experience administering

  Tableau Server

  or

  Tableau Cloud

  .
• Strong knowledge of

  Active Directory

  ,

  SSO/SAML

  , and

  RBAC

  .
• Scripting experience (

  PowerShell

  ,

  DAX

  , or

  Python

  ) for automation and monitoring.
• A strong understanding of

  data governance

  ,

  row-level security

  , and compliance practices.
• Experience with platform monitoring and troubleshooting, including

  Power BI Gateway logs

  and

  Tableau logs

  .
• Familiarity with

  CI/CD

  pipelines,

  DevOps

  tools, and

  ITIL

  practices is a plus.
