Bhutan Circuits:
- Western Bhutan Circuit (Paro, Thimphu, Punakha, Haa Valley)
- Central Bhutan Circuit (Trongsa, Bumthang, Phobjikha Valley)
- Eastern Bhutan Circuit (Mongar, Lhuntse, Trashigang)
- Southern Bhutan Entry Points (Phuentsholing, Gelephu, Samdrup Jongkhar)
North East India Circuits:
- Assam Circuit (Guwahati, Kaziranga, Majuli, Jorhat, Sivasagar)
- Meghalaya Circuit (Shillong, Cherrapunji, Mawlynnong, Dawki, Nongriat)
- Arunachal Pradesh Circuit (Tawang, Bomdila, Ziro, Itanagar, Dirang)
- Nagaland Circuit (Kohima, Dimapur, Khonoma, Mon)
- Manipur Circuit (Imphal, Loktak Lake, INA Memorial)
- Tripura Circuit (Agartala, Ujjayanta Palace, Neermahal)
- Mizoram Circuit (Aizawl, Champhai, Reiek)
Key Requirements:
Destination Knowledge:
- Comprehensive understanding of entire Bhutan and North East India geography and tourist locations
- In-depth knowledge of all tourist circuits in Bhutan and the Seven Sister States
- First-hand experience of different destinations across Bhutan and North East
- Familiarity with local attractions, tribal cultures, Buddhist and Hindu heritage sites, festivals (Tshechus, Hornbill Festival, Bihu, etc.), and tourism regulations
- Understanding of Bhutan's Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) and tourism policies
- Knowledge of Protected Area Permit (PAP) and Inner Line Permit (ILP) requirements for North East states
- Familiarity with wildlife sanctuaries and national parks (Kaziranga, Manas, Namdapha, etc.)
Hotel Industry Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of hotel properties across Bhutan and North East (budget to luxury categories)
- Understanding of hotel categories, room types, and amenities in both regions
- Experience in hotel booking and rate negotiations preferred
- Knowledge of Traditional Bhutanese homestays and North East tribal homestays
- Familiarity with eco-lodges and tea estate accommodations
Language Skills:
- Fluent in Hindi, English, and Bengali
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to handle client queries in all three languages
Professional Skills:
- Sales and customer service experience
- Ability to create customised tour packages for diverse destinations
- Knowledge of package pricing and costing for multi-state itineraries
- Good negotiation skills
- Problem-solving abilities
- Understanding of international and domestic tourism protocols
- Ability to handle complex multi-destination bookings
Technical Knowledge:
- Understanding of travel logistics, including international flights to Paro and Guwahati
- Knowledge of domestic transport options within Bhutan and North East
- Familiarity with seasonal accessibility of different locations (monsoon impacts, winter road closures)
- Expert knowledge of visa requirements, ILP, PAP, and permit procedures
- Understanding of Druk Air, Bhutan Airlines, and Indian domestic carrier operations
- Knowledge of rail and road connectivity to North East
- Awareness of border crossing procedures (India-Bhutan)
Experience:
- Relevant experience in travel industry preferred (minimum 2-3 years)
- Previous experience handling Bhutan and North East tourism packages would be an advantage
- Must have personally visited major tourist destinations in both Bhutan and North East states
- Experience in handling domestic and international tourists preferred
- Track record of successful package sales and customer satisfaction
Job Responsibilities:
Package Creation & Sales:
- Design customized Bhutan and North East tour packages (single destination or combination tours)
- Prepare detailed itineraries based on personal destination knowledge
- Create unique circuits combining Bhutan with Assam, Meghalaya, or Arunachal Pradesh
- Quote competitive prices considering SDF, permit fees, and regional pricing variations
- Handle client queries and bookings for both destinations
- Coordinate with Bhutanese partners and North East ground handlers
Client Handling:
- Provide first-hand destination guidance to clients for both regions
- Address customer queries and concerns with practical insights
- Ensure smooth coordination for bookings, visas, and permit processes
- Handle post-sale support and travel assistance
- Guide clients about Bhutanese and North East customs, etiquette, and tribal sensitivities
- Provide pre-travel briefings on permits, restricted areas, and travel advisories
Relationship Management:
- Maintain relationships with hotels and service providers in Bhutan and North East
- Keep updated with latest rates and tourism policy changes in both regions
- Handle negotiations with vendors across multiple states
- Maintain strong connections with Bhutanese DMCs and North East ground operators
- Build network with local guides and tour operators
Additional Requirements:
- Understanding of Bhutan's unique tourism model and North East's permit system
- Knowledge of best photography spots and cultural sites across both regions
- Familiarity with trekking routes and adventure activities (Goecha La, Sandakphu, Tawang trails, etc.)
- Understanding of best seasons to visit different destinations
- Knowledge of major festivals and events timing (Hornbill Festival, Losar, Bihu, Tshechus, etc.)
- Awareness of wildlife tourism and birding opportunities
- Understanding of tea tourism in Assam
- Knowledge of river rafting, rock climbing, and adventure tourism options
- Familiarity with local cuisines and culinary tourism opportunities
- Understanding of sustainable and responsible tourism practices
