About the opportunity:

Ugaoo is expanding our retail experience by introducing a boutique café within our flagship store. We are seeking a passionate, skilled, and customer-focused Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will craft exceptional coffee and tea beverages, maintain a warm and inviting atmosphere, and seamlessly integrate into the Ugaoo environment by helping promote our unique plant and garden-related products and events. If you love both great coffee and the joy of greenery, this role is for you

Responsibilities:

Craft and serve all espresso drinks, coffee, and specialty beverages to consistently high-quality standards.
Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and process POS transactions and cash handling efficiently.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the café area, equipment, and customer seating throughout the shift.
Perform daily calibration of the espresso machine and grinders (dialing in).
Monitor and restock inventory of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and all necessary café supplies.
Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and regulations.
Educate customers on menu items and promote Ugaoo's retail products or events when appropriate.
Perform opening and closing duties, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and securing the workstation.
Resolve minor customer service issues or promptly escalate complex problems to the manager.

Requirements:

Proven work experience (1+ years) as a Barista in a commercial setting.
Expertise in operating and cleaning commercial espresso machines and grinders.
Exceptional customer service and strong verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated reliability and punctuality for all scheduled shifts.
Comfortable handling money and operating a Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
