Business Analyst with Data Risk!
In this role, Support the Head of CIB Data management and governance / Product Owner with the activities required for reducing data risk and sustaining the low-risk environment across the Data Conduct” risk type and corresponding sub risk types such as Data Quality, Data Sovereignty, Privacy, Record Keeping, and Responsible AI for the CIB business.
Responsibilities
These activities include but are not limited to:
- Conduct discovery of current state processes, systems and organisational landscape against the data (risk) requirements, identify gaps and perform impact analysis
- Formulate remediation plans / approaches / solutions to address the identified gaps
- Deliver the associated Data Risk Treatment Plans (RTPs) / remediation initiatives
- Implement and embed the Data (risk) Standards in BAU.
- Support the business in performing regular / trigger / ad-hoc data risk assessments and data impact assessments
- Design, setup / implementation, execution and maintenance of the controls / frameworks required for compliance with the Data and associated Standards, regulations and sustenance of the low-risk environment.
- Collaborate with Group Chief Data Office (CDO) and centralised teams such as Incident Management team where applicable to roll out and/or maintain centralised enablers that aids with data risk reduction and/or Data Standards Implementation.
- Technical knowledge of data laws and regulations such as United Kingdom / European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), United Kingdom Money Laundering Regulation, SEC, CFTC and MIFID
- Experience working with business, operations, compliance and technology stakeholders across varying levels of seniorities.
- Good problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to take initiative, identify opportunities and work with minimal management oversight.
- Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills — oral, written and presentation.
- High level of attention to detail with the ability to identify areas of focus for solution design and implementation.
- Ability to create effective work relationships across functions & borders.
- Good time management skills and able to prioritise work effectively.
- Any other relevant project management certification(s).
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, Risk Management, or related field.
- 5+ years of project management experience, with at least 3 years in regulatory or risk-related initiatives in the financial services sector.
- Strong knowledge of key regulatory frameworks (e.g., Basel III/IV, Dodd-Frank, FRTB, CCAR, AML/KYC, GDPR, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience with project governance, stakeholder management, and project lifecycle execution.
- Proficient in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, Asana, or similar).
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
- Experience working in or consulting for Financial Institutions is critical. Knowledge of Corporate & Institutional Banking / Financial Markets is preferred.
- Experience with understanding and mapping a complex business process to determine how specific regulatory obligations & policy requirements impact a process and the respective controls/elements in those processes.
- Experience with designing solutions to meet policy and regulatory requirements for existing processes, in collaboration with technology.
- Able to prioritise work, manage stress, time, and change effectively.
- Prior experience working in Agile Scrum team will be advantageous.
