Backstage Developer

Key ResponsibilitiesBackstage Development: Design, develop, and maintain custom Backstage plugins to enhance platform functionality.Backstage Configuration Deployment: Configure and deploy Backstage on cloud platforms in a secure and scalable manner.ServiceCatalog: Build and maintain a Service Catalog for seamless management and discovery of services.CI/CD Integration: Integrate Backstage with CI/CD pipelines (GitlabCI, Octopus Deploy, ArgoCD).ObservabilityIntegration: Connect monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic) with Backstage.Cloud Integration: Connect Backstage to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Kubernetes clusters.DocumentationIntegration: Integrate Confluence, GitLab, and other sources into Backstage search to create a centralized information hub.AgileParticipation: Participate in Agile ceremonies: stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.Required Skills And ExperienceBackstageExpertise: Proven experience extending Backstage core features and plugin development.FrontEndDevelopment: Proficient in TypeScript and React.js; strong understanding of component-based architecture.APIIntegration: Experience with RESTful and GraphQL APIs.CloudPlatforms: Hands-on with AWS, Azure, or GCP integrations.CI/CDTools: Hands-on experience with Jenkins, GitlabCI, ArgoCD.Kubernetes: Working knowledge of Kubernetes and its integration with Backstage.ProblemSolving: Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex problems.Preferred QualificationsDevOps Practices: Understanding of DevOps workflows and alignment with Backstage.Performance Optimization: Skills in optimizing Backstage apps/plugins for scalability and performance.Microservices Architecture: Exposure to microservices-based application development.
