Backend Software Engineer

We are seeking backend software engineers to join our team in developing a platform that aims to optimize our advanced biotech ecosystem. Your primary responsibilities will include designing and building a service-oriented decoupled web application that will provide access to our advanced machine-learning models for scientific end users. You will be involved in designing systems architecture to manipulate and store biological sequence data efficiently, architecting APIs to interact with machine learning models, and providing leadership and mentoring for a high-quality software engineering process. Key Skillsets required for this role include extensive industry experience in developing back-end systems in a modern cloud environment (specifically GCP), proficiency in the Python programming language and its ecosystem (FastAPI, uv, ruff, pyright), expertise in databases and big data systems, experience with production systems for machine learning applications, building containerized backend systems using Docker and Kubernetes, knowledge of highly-available distributed cloud systems, and excellent team working skills with effective communication and collaboration abilities.
