Backend Intern

Role Overview: At Aftershoot, we are on a mission to build a global community of photographers who can spend more time behind the lens by leveraging AI tools to simplify post-processing tasks. As a Backend Intern, your role will involve developing scalable APIs, writing automation scripts, and supporting data-driven features that enhance Aftershoot's ecosystem. You will collaborate closely with the engineering and product teams to optimize backend systems and deliver production-ready features. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services. - Write automation scripts using Python or Node.js to streamline workflows. - Create and maintain web scrapers for both structured and unstructured data. - Utilize databases like PostgreSQL or MongoDB for data storage and querying. - Optimize performance and reliability of backend systems and APIs. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features meeting production standards. Qualifications Required: - Proficiency in Node.js, Python, or TypeScript. - Sound understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP fundamentals, and cloud storage concepts. - Familiarity with web scraping tools or libraries such as Puppeteer, BeautifulSoup, Playwright, or Bright Data. - Basic knowledge of PostgreSQL or MongoDB. - Experience with Git/GitHub and version control best practices. - Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a keen willingness to learn.
