Backend Engineer

As a skilled Backend Engineer specializing in STP, you will be an integral part of our core email security product team. Your main responsibility will be to develop and optimize the backend email signal processing pipeline, ensuring seamless integration with the Microsoft Graph API. Your expertise will be crucial in handling real-time email threat signals effectively, contributing significantly to the development of our detection engine's intelligence layer. Your key responsibilities will include developing and maintaining the backend pipeline for email signal extraction and processing, collaborating with Temporal for workflow orchestration and reliability, integrating with third-party APIs such as Microsoft Graph API, working closely with ML and frontend teams to facilitate seamless data flow and actions, writing secure and scalable Python code with a modular design approach, ensuring database integrity using MySQL, and managing API traffic through Kong Gateway. To excel in this role, you must be proficient in Python (Flask/FastAPI preferred), have hands-on experience with Temporal workflows or similar orchestration frameworks, possess a good understanding of Kong API Gateway setup and configuration, demonstrate strong SQL and schema design knowledge with MySQL, and be familiar with REST APIs, webhooks, and secure data handling practices.
