Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Apply software design tools and web technologies to solve critical challenges in the healthcare ecosystem.
• Own end-to-end Candor data processing system from ingestion to API / UI.
• Fine-tune and optimize existing systems to improve scalability and availability.
• Stay up-to-date on the most recent frontend/backend technologies.
• Be able to relay key findings and insights to stakeholders using easy-to-understand diagrams and other visuals.
• Write automated unit and end-to-end integration tests in parallel to the development.
• Team player and collaborates well with others.
• Proactive attitude on raising concerns and providing solutions.
  

Requirements

• Bachelor/Master degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant field.
• 3+ years of programming experience in Python, Golang, or any other object-oriented programming language.
• Experience with building APIs and backend systems.
• Experience with system design and architecture.
• Experience with Cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc).
• Hands-on experience with web scraping is a bonus.
• Good to know frontend libraries like HTML, CSS, and React.js .
• Familiarity with k8s, docker, ELK, and Airflow.
