Backend Engineer

As a skilled Backend Engineer at STP, you will be joining the core email security product team to build and optimize the backend email signal processing pipeline. Your role is crucial in integrating with Microsoft Graph API and ensuring robust handling of real-time email threat signals to enhance the intelligence layer of our detection engine. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain the backend pipeline for email signal extraction and processing - Work with Temporal for workflow orchestration and reliability - Integrate with third-party APIs like Microsoft Graph API - Collaborate with ML and frontend teams for seamless data flow and actions - Write secure and scalable Python code using modular design - Ensure database integrity using MySQL, and manage API traffic via Kong Gateway Required Skillset: - Proficient in Python (Flask/FastAPI preferred) - Hands-on experience with Temporal workflows or similar orchestration frameworks - Good understanding of Kong API Gateway setup and configuration - Strong SQL and schema design knowledge with MySQL - Familiar with REST APIs, webhooks, and secure data handling In this role, we value qualities such as being curious, a quick learner, and having a passion for clean backend architecture.
