Backend Developer L2

• Youll build a team of engineers focused on building out critical components of our Engineering team.
• Support all facets of team management to attract, engage, retain, and nurture teams of outstanding engineers (e. g., recruitment, mentoring, training and development, performance evaluation).
• Partner with the product and UX/UX teams and other cross functional partners to develop overall vision, strategy and roadmap for our engineering systems and product suites.
• Champion engineering and operational excellence, establishing metrics and processes for regular assessment and improvement.
• Establish a solid project framework and excellent development processes.
• Drive an excellent experience, continuously raising the bar on functionality, usability, and simplicity.
• Provide technical and architectural direction for the development, design, integration, testing, and maintenance of our products.
• Lead agile software processes for the engineering team and introduce best-in-class industry practices.
• Handle technical debt to ensure our development velocity stays responsive and predictable while minimizing production incidents of our operations.

Should Apply If You Have

• Experience in hiring and performance management of backend teams at SaaS offering companies.
• Experience in leading engineering teams, including experience in managing Tech Leads.
• 2 - 4 years of work experience architecting, developing, and shipping well tested software products and/or services.

• Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science or related field/equivalent practical experience, experience in MEAN stack is a big plus.
• Interest in building things from scratch and being a decision maker here.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and keen eye to build the perfect product.

Technical Skills

• Web development concepts - basics of REST APIs, server architecture.
• Prior experience with Javascript (Node.js), MongoDB.
• Prior experience with in-memory databases like Redis.
• Design and build efficient, horizontally scalable systems.
• Create microservices and tools, manage servers on cloud.
• Experience with containerization technology like Docker.
• Experience with queueing systems like RabbitMQ and Kafka is a plus.
