Back End Engineer

About the role

Own clinician/admin UIs in a Next.js environment. Youll ship fast, accessible, multilingual
experiences for highstakes healthcare workflows.

What youll do

1. Build production UIs with Next.js (App Router) + React + TypeScript.
2. Use Server Components, Suspense, Error Boundaries, and Server Actions for mutations.
3. Implement SSR/SSG/ISR and revalidation (ondemand + timebased).
4. Create route handlers, middleware for auth/tenant resolution, and use Edge Runtime
   where apt.
5. State/data: RTK Query/TanStack Query, React Hook Form + Zod, optimistic updates.
6. UI system: Tailwind, shadcn/ui, lucide-react; set up Storybook.
7. Performance: codesplitting, prefetching, Web Vitals; profile and fix bottlenecks.
8. Accessibility & i18n: semantic HTML, keyboard paths, screen reader flows, multilingual
   UI.
9. Testing: Jest + React Testing Library for units/components; Playwright/Cypress for E2E.
10. Collaborate with backend to shape APIs for SSR/ISR and streaming.

Musthave skills

1. Strong problem solving & UI debugging; clear mental model of RSC + client components.
2. Solid Next.js App Router (routing, layouts, loading/error UI, route handlers).
3. TypeScript proficiency; strict typing for props, hooks, and API clients.
4. API integration (REST/GraphQL/tRPC), error handling, authguarded routes.
5. Fundamentals: HTML/CSS, accessibility, Git, basic CI.

Nicetohave

1. NextAuth/OAuth2, rolebased UI, feature flags.
2. Charts (Recharts), large form UX, data grids.
3. Healthcare UX (eprescriptions, claims), PHR on enterprise blockchain visualizations.
