Azure Data Engineer Business Intelligence Operations Lead (AVP)

Role Overview: As an AVP BI Operations Lead (Azure Data Engineer) at our company, you will be responsible for overseeing Business Intelligence (BI) Operations at the AVP level. Your role will involve managing end-to-end Azure data engineering pipelines, ensuring operational excellence, and leading a high-performing team. This position is located onsite at our Koregaon Park, Pune office, where your strong leadership, technical depth, and business collaboration will be key. Key Responsibilities: - Architect, develop, and maintain large-scale Azure data pipelines using ADF, Databricks, Synapse, Azure Functions, and ADLS Gen2. - Design and optimize ETL/ELT workflows and data transformations using SQL, Python, and PySpark. - Build data models, warehouse/lakehouse structures, and ensure efficient data ingestion and processing. - Maintain high-performing, scalable, and reliable data platforms in Azure. - Lead operational support for BI platforms including Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting systems. - Ensure timely execution of data refresh cycles, dashboards, and reporting continuity. - Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in data pipelines and BI systems. - Drive process automation and operational improvements to enhance BI reliability and performance. - Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, analysts, and operations specialists. - Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, and leadership to align BI deliverables. - Manage daily operations, SLAs, audits, compliance checks, and governance processes. - Communicate technical updates and operational insights to senior management. Qualifications Required: - 10-15 years of experience in Data Engineering, BI Operations, or Enterprise Data Platform roles. - Strong expertise in Azure cloud services: ADF, Databricks, Synapse, ADLS Gen2, Azure SQL, Delta Lake. - Hands-on proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark. - Deep experience in ETL/ELT workflows, data modeling, and lake/warehouse architectures. - Strong knowledge of Power BI or similar BI tools. - Proven leadership experience in managing data engineering or BI operations teams. - Excellent troubleshooting, performance optimization, and problem-resolution skills. - Experience in BFSI/Enterprise environments is preferred. - Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Engineering, or related field. - Azure certifications such as DP-203, AZ-900, or Architect-level certifications are an advantage.,
